Rebecca Fain's hobby is the Art of Apiculture, Beekeeper, here on the Oregon Coast. She is a Florence Local and manages 20 hives around our Mapleton and Florence area. Honey is a natural antioxidant, antibacterial, and humectant which allows her to make honey based soaps, cream moisturizers. She also sells filtered beeswax.

One of her goals is to raise $1000 each year from the products she sells to donate to OSU Honey Bee Research Lab.

Rebecca uses hives to house the bees placed in areas around the Florence Area during the plant-growing season. She collects and harvests the honey during the Summer months. Hives are then collected when weather moves into Fall. Bees in hives are placed in a warm environment with minimal human contact to naturally maintain themselves until next Spring.
